Two injured in Grand Bahama shootings

POLICE in Grand Bahama are investigating two separate shootings that left two men in hospital.

The latest incident occurred shortly after 2am yesterday. A man told police he was parked in a car in the area of Tamarind Street with two other persons when someone in another vehicle, a cream coloured Nissan March, opened fire on them hitting the man in the arm. He was taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital and seen by a doctor. He does not have life threatening injuries, police said.

Another man was taken to hospital after a shooting on the island on Thursday. Shortly after 9pm, police received a report of gunshots being heard in the area of East Sunrise Highway. Officers responded and further investigations revealed that there was an argument between two men in a parking lot of a business near East Sunrise Highway.

Officers went to the Rand Memorial Hospital where a mane was being treated for gunshot wounds to the body. He is said to be listed in serious condition.

Police, acting on information, arrested two men, 20 and 18, who are known to the police and who are assisting them with their investigation into this matter.

Police also recovered a vehicle that is believed to have been used in this incident.
