Bahamas Flag Football League in USFTL Nationals

THE Bahamas Flag Football League will be amongst the almost 500 teams participating in the USFTL Flag Football Nationals from Friday to Sunday in Sarasota, Florida.

The BFFL will be sending a male and female team to compete in the 9-on-9 and 8-on-8 style of play respectively.

President of the BFFL, Jayson Clarke, advised that the BFFL has always had an interest in attending the USFTL Nationals. “We scouted these Nationals some 5 years ago and we are now at the place where we are capable of sending two ALL Star teams to compete,” Clarke said.

“This year, there is a record number of teams participating and the competition will be stiff, however we have a very diverse coaching staff and so we are looking to do well. Our overall goal is to attend these Nationals annually and in the long term, look to working with the USFTL to host qualifying tournaments in the Bahamas.”

Both male and female teams are made up BFFL members from numerous teams within the league. The teams have been training for the last three months to prepare for the Nationals in Sarasota, Florida.
