The government is hoping Bahamians will soon find work aboard luxury cruise ships through its partnership with Carnival Cruise Lines.
Senator Dion A Foulkes, the minister of labour, and Ministry officials sought to move the initiative forward in recent meetings with Carnival officials.

Bahamians do work on board those ships and have for decades. Unfortunately though the reality is ships are crewed now mostly by people from places like The Phillipines, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Nepal, India just to name a few. Places where 400 dollars a month makes you filthy rich. I understand the need for good P.R. but ya'll can do better than this, a few minutes of research would tell you not to waste too much energy on this. This is purely about bottom line for the cruise lines. Hell, Carnival doesn't even use Americans in the purser's office anymore. They use Fillipinos. Much cheaper and better workers. You may get a few token jobs but das about it and you should know this...
