The Bahamas will be the host of the second edition of CARIFTA Judo on Friday, June 22, from 7-9pm at the Courtyard Marriott Ballroom.

Teams from Guyana and Trinidad will particpate. This will serve as a test event for the Junior Judo World Championships, which will be held in Nassau on October 17 to 21.

“This is the first test for the team,” said head coach Oneysi Portorreal Pons.

“Guyana and Trinidad have strong country programmes. They will send some athletes that are seasoned and this will give us a good idea of where are program is.”

Tickets are $10 and available at the door. The following day, the Bahamas Judo Open will take place from 10am to 3pm, also at Courtyard Mariott on West Bay Street. Interested people can contact Bahamas Judo at bahamasjudo@gmail.com.
