While I understand the Environmental Department has its hands full, it should not take nine weeks to respond to an appeal to rid our neighbourhood of two derelict cars.

The cars on Malawi Street in Elizabeth Estates are an eyesore and a haven for rats. The residents put a lot of effort into the upkeep of their properties and the situation is very distressing.

We have telephoned the department on numerous occasions and they always promise to come, but never show up.
