CHESS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

THE prestigious Bahamas National Chess Championship 2018 is scheduled to begin in one week. Eight of the Bahamas’ top players are expected to compete in a seven round-robin style tournament.

This tournament is invitation only as only the winners and top scorers from BCF events held throughout 2018 have qualified, including the Bahamas Junior Chess Champion 2018.

Thanks to the amazing sponsorship of Atlantis, the top players in the country will do battle at the Coral Towers Convention Center, all hoping to be crowned the new national chess champion. Play is set to begin 9am November 17 at the Coral Towers Convention Center, Paradise Island.

“We thank our other sponsors, the Mednet Group, Lindroth Development Company Ltd and the New Providence Development Company Ltd for supporting this top tier event,” said Elton Joseph, the tournament director.

“Few were invited, only one will be victorious.”
