THE body of a man was found in a well on Cat Island on Thursday night.

Police were called to the residence in The Bluff at about 5pm after a man was found unresponsive in the property's well.

His body was pulled from the well and examined by the island's medical team, who pronounced him dead.

A police spokesperson said that an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

Officers from the Central Detective Unit and the Coroner will travel to Cat Island to continue investigations.
