The Bahamas is seeking Israel’s support and assistance over maritime and transportation-related matters.
Renward Wells, minister of transport and local government, last week discussed with his Israeli counterpart, Bezalel Smotrich, the Middle Eastern nation’s support for this country’s bid to become a member of the United Nations International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Group C Council.
The two also spoke on Israel’s technical assistance with SMART traffic management technology, and the growth of airports, shipping and container ports in both countries.
Mr Wells was also scheduled to meet with Israel’s minister of foreign affairs and intelligence in Jerusalem.
