Two men were rescued after a cargo plane crashed just off New Providence on Friday afternoon.
According to reports, the Douglas DC3 plane had departed Opa-locka, Florida and was heading to Lynden Pindling International Airport at around 4.45pm when an engine failed and it crashed into the sea.
It was reported to be approximately two-and-a-half miles from land.
The two men on board were rescued by the Defence Force and are said to be in good health.

im glad these guys are alright. it must take balls of forged steel to fly an 85 year old plane, that pre dates WW2 until it quite literally "falls out of the sky"

Lucky break for the pilots and persons living in the path of this airplane, two and a half more miles and it would have landed on someone's home.

That old plane if maintained is more reliable and trustworthy than any modern aircraft.
Obviously is was lacking maintenance.
The plane can take off with one engine.
Something other than the plane is at fault. If maintained and running properly flying on one engine is no problem.
