Our new National Honours Awards or as they are being awarded The Bahamas Re-Run Awards........ there had to be more persons who had received Queen’s honours receiving the National awards to make it a joke ...... surely if a person has received their CMG-MBE-OBE or knighthood that’s enough awards as they came from the Monarch – Her Majesty the Queen of the Bahamas.
The Chancellor of all the Orders is His Excellency the Most Honourable Governor General – I suggest if there is any speeches it should be the person who is giving the Awards...His Excellency.
Has anyone thought out which takes protocol precedence when it comes to protocol? Queen’s honours against National?
This posthumously issue ....... only military or police or anyone in the uniformed services should receive an award after their death.
If we continue in the fashion of year (one)-(two) it will only be rehash – previously awarded persons who will get the Awards...must have ‘political affiliation’……… red was through and through the awardees of 2019.
Why wasn’t the Ballroom used......full guard of honour, etc, must have cost a bit and Treasury is said to be low right now – Dorian?

How can the GG be giving out "national honours" when he represents a foreign entity ..... the British monarch.
This is how ridiculous these "national awards" are ...... which nation???
These awards are almost as cheap as those that were given out by the disgraced fraudster.

I disagree strongly with the previous pundit. The national awards are necessary to inspire our children to seek greatness and be the best they can be in this country and beyond. We have recently replaced an old useless holiday with the new National Heroes Day. Therefore, we require more and more heroes to celebrate. The one's we currently have are quite sufficient - however, it would be unwise to suggest to the youth that they cannot someday become a national hero.
These award ceremonies, although costly, are less costly than the alternative of our youth having nothing to aim for.

Can you foresee a year when there is no-one deserving of an honor? I sure can (and did).
But, we will still find someone to give something too, even if they did nothing heroic. Kind of like a participation badge. I guess even sheeprunner12 and I will be getting an award at some point; I'll put it next to my fourth place ribbons from kindergarten sports day. Still proud of running the wrong way.

Sheeprunner can get the National Sheep Runner's Award, and you can get the Next to A Deity Award if you can bring that goat back to life that died up near the oil storage in East End G.B. :-) I gah fill out ya nomination cards tomorrow morning.

Would saving a drowning dog suffice? If so, I'm a shoe in.
