An avid vacationer to the Bahamas, Woods has been a staple on the local sports tourism scene as Albany has hosted his Hero World Challenge event annually since 2015.

The Tiger Woods Foundation is the event’s primary charitable beneficiary, along with the Tavistock Foundation and Bahamas Youth Foundation.

Woods continues his philanthropic efforts in the Bahamas which began with the BYF.

According to the organisation, the BYF is “a non-profit organisation dedicated to the enrichment, education and enhancement of young people from The Bahamas and around the world who matriculate in The Commonwealth of the Bahamas. Focused on helping talented and gifted young people by awarding scholarships in music, the arts, academics, and athletics, the Bahamas Youth Foundation fundamentally believes in the potential of every single young person to achieve their dreams through hard work, education, exposures and experiences that help them learn their craft and what it takes to succeed in it.”

Through the Bahamas Youth Foundation, the Albany Academies, specialising in golf and tennis, provide world-class sport coaching and instruction to help young athletes become their best. Windsor School affords a select group of learners to pursue athletic excellence in golf and tennis through the Albany Academies.

The Albany Golf Academy, led by noted instructor Mitchell Spearman, and the Albany Tennis Academy, led by former world No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt, provides student-athletes the opportunity to learn and train under renowned instruction as they strive to become the game’s top athletes.
