The Ministry of Health confirmed five new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the total number of cases to 78.
The latest cases are all from Bimini and are in isolation at home.
• Case #74 is a 15-year-old girl.
• Case #75 is a 75-year-old woman.
• Case #76 is a 37-year-old woman.
• Case #77 is a 47-year-old woman.
• Case #78 is an 11-year-old girl.
There have been seven confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Grand Bahama, 62 in New Providence, one in Cat Cay, and eight on the island of Bimini.
Health officials continue to follow the condition of the other current COVID-19 positive cases.
The Ministry of Health again wishes to remind individuals who have been advised to remain home in quarantine or isolation that they are expected to stay in their homes until the time of quarantine or isolation has ended. Kindly give consideration to having a family member complete shopping errands for essential items. Following this advice is paramount to avoid the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.

As small as the Island of Bimini is, from the first incident of the virus the whole island was supposed to be tested to rule anyone with or without out, that should have been done from the get-go, now they have a situation to deal with, i hope they are on cat cay at this moment testing the people there. A plan is needed, he who fails to plan, plans to fail. It can't be that we are running around like a headless chicken.

Somehow the isolation and quarantine measures do not seem to be working. Why can we get no indication as to the severity of these cases? Are they critical and life-threatening or manageable? There seems to be no sign that the Bahamas MOH is capable of assisting the afflicted. There is no significant, helpful information sharing here.

The number of new confirmed infections in the Bahamas has been stable for a month (https://www.worldometers.info/coronavir…) so the curve is completely flat and the curfew/lockdown is clearly working. Of course it would be nice it the curve were not flat but declining, but that would require better obedience of the curfew/lockdown/quarantine.

Treat the anti-cannabis skeptics' as no more than noise in a market place attempting crowd out that **cannabis is real medicine badly needed by real patients** during the coronavirus epidemic by using the government's Emergency Powers **to give a wink and a nod to the speedy licensing of 'Medical' Cannabis Dispensaries.**
What says you, ma Comrades, if we set about to covert a number of the **closed liquor stores, and numbers houses, over to medical dispensaries.** Nod once for yeah, twice for no?

As if we didn’t already know: Mr. Russell is an imbecile. Cannabis has no value in treating a freakin’ virus. None whatsoever. Now we know why Mr. Russell’s musings here are gibberish— he’s high as a kite, day to night.

And. where was it that **Mr.** Russell insinuated for **cannabis to be marketed as a treatment much less a cure** for the deadly coronavirus? But I'd more strongly be an advocate that cannabis, it is more of an **essential than trimming your yard's shrubbery...** yeah?

Maybe it was this: “... that cannabis is real medicine badly needed by real patients during the coronavirus epidemic ...”
If that’s not what you meant, you should cut out the fanciful word-salad crap and write more clearly. Nobody can figure out what the hell you’re trying to say most of the time.

Comrade Shell, speak for your own body but not be inflicted upon the health others that it's okay to be heading over to the drug store, and neighbuorhood convenience corner store, to buy **over the counter unapproved, untested** drugs.
It's a recommend that you seek out the medical advice family doctor but to also educate yourself on an alternative to prescription medicine's, and **cannabis is a medicine.**

The last word I would associate with Tal is imbecile. Solving puzzles is a mental exercise not for the dull of mind. Making puzzles is another level altogether

Why are we not testing?
This is terrible. All this lockdown is a waste of time if we don't test.
There are not that many people on many of the islands and yet we don't test.
This make us look like a very backward third world country.

Id like to see the testing plan.
Which populations are to be tested and why we chose/what strategic advantage we hope to gain by testing in that order. Some will be obvious like health care workers.
The number in each population to be tested. How did you arrive at that number.
How you will monitor those already tested to ensure they don't get infected?
How will you monitor the entire population? For example you may determine statistically that you need to test 30% of healthcare workers...whatever the number is...but everybody, 100% reporting to any medical facility, has to have their temperature taken. (I thought about monitoring temperatures with a wristband but suppose you're walking and you see that guy or girl you like and your temperature spikes. the temperature police in all their hazmat gear or their drones surround you in front of your crush :-| temperature goes even higher then you have to explain no no I have a crush on that person as they look at you aghast and all your co-workers look on in amazement ...temperature spikes gain... now you're in quarantine :-/ moral don't develop no crush during the *marona*)
How long is each population test expected to take
The resources we need to complete each population test. People, training, kits, PPE's, money etc. Indicate where the shortfalls are and when theyll be encountered and what is the plan to mitigate/get the necessary supplies.
How will we tackle the shantytowns and what is the plan to get rid of them immediately. This virus is the canary in the coal mine
What is the plan if we have a hurricane? This would be apocalypse planning territory but completely probable. Even a minor hurricane could be disastrous in terms of social distancing both in terms of buying supplies and shelter during

I'm in Bimini. They had 50 test kits. They tested 50 people that came in contact with the lady and her husband that tested positive last week. Of those 50, 5 tested positive. So far all the cases are all manageable.
Strange times, but BImini will get through it. Be safe everyone.
