A man was shot dead by police and two officers were injured after a shootout in Pinewood Gardens on Monday.
Police had been called to a house in Cascarilla Street, to investigate a situation where it was said a man was acting disorderly.
When they attempted to confront him, he fired shots at them and ran into a room. As the officers attempted to remove him from the room, he fired more shots at them.
Police returned fire, fatally wounding the man. Two officers received non-life threatening wounds.
Police are still investigating this incident.

> Commissioner of Police Paul Rolle warned members of the public that if they engage the police with hostility, they should be "prepared to meet their maker".
Any police commissioner who would dare utter such a statement as a public threat is undeniably unfit to be our country's most senior police officer. Black lives clearly do not matter to Commissioner Rolle and its most scary that he's setting the tone from the top for all other police officers. Sadly, Rolle has way too much in common with our most 'incompetent authority', namely that bullying buffoon Minnis.

Anyone stupid enough to not only run from the police but fire a gun at them should not be shocked to learn that they die.

You should not be so eager and willing to believe the account of the event by the police officers involved.

I other words if you do not want your family member or lover or friend to be shot or targeted by police or any law officials you need to tell them put their damn guns down and stop committing crimes and especially crime against innocent people. Black lives matter and it doesn't only matters when police take a life away but it matters when your criminal friends family and colleagues try take away an innocent life as well. Every year our county records over 50 to 80 deaths and that's not police killing people but that is we black people killing ourselves, raping abusing and robbing our brothers and sister thinking there is no consequences but rather you like it or not for every action there is a reaction. Us civilian are defenseless against your criminal family friends and colleagues and our line of defense are our officers, so do us normally law abiding citizens a favor and turn your criminal gangster and law breaking friends into the police and take away their guns before the protectors of life and property encounter them

In other words to put it directly if you wish not for your criminal friends family and lovers to be confronted by police for trying to or taking away anyone live you should turn them into the authorities or have them turn theirs guns in. You live by the sword your ass going die by the sword. You point a gun at anyone not just law enforcement but if you point a gun at anyone you betters be expected for a gun or more to be pointed back to you threatening to take away your life. No excuses need to be made for criminals trying to make life difficult for anyone nor should anyone allow or make these criminals think that there isn't any consequences for their criminal intent. You dont like what happening to your criminal and gangster family and friends simple tell them to leave innocent people along. Black lives does not only matters when a police takes away a live but it matters when these thugs gangsters and criminals take away any live and make people become victims of crimes, look at our murder rate every year., that's a reflection of black people killing black people but it doesn't matter because your criminal friends family and lovers bringing you that fast money but when they get what they deserve black lives matter or its police brutality. Job well done officers one less criminal to worry about and one less gun on the street. Us law abiding people are victims of crimes to these criminals and our only defense are the authorities who are the protectors of life a d property.

My Comrades, there has to be a more **2020** intelligent and less street thug dangerous tone option available rather than **don't invite us to kill you, and the jailing the Homeless for breaking curfew laws,** approach to policing than having listened to such words not heard since the ** 1960s,** when armed with military issued weapons white Sheriffs greeted the Freedom Bus Riders, and Lunch Counter Negros, with **such prepared take on the spot action of **threatening trial and death sentence carried out on the spot** by policing intent words uttered. Nod Once for Yeah, Twice for No?

It is unfortunate that the commissioner of Police should make such a statement
One would have thought that he would realize it is not the right words to use.. and
would stop repeating it.

@future, just skip over his comments, they never make sense. He was previously know as muddasick. Let's just hope that he never needs to call the police while someone is brandishing a gun in his face!

LOL. Both you and @future sound like rare lucky souls (white Bahamians?) who never have had any reason to fear police officers predisposed to unnecessary hostility in any country. And the guy's mother (mudda?) was praying and not sick according to the initial police reports.

This will be ok until it's your son.
The police are not authorized executioners. I would like to know how the police were able to apprehend the white man who also fired at them and barricaded himself in a room. They got him out without a scratch but every black man ends up with 15 or more bullets in him. How is that possible?
