EDITOR, The Tribune.
Perhaps with the very real threat of the corona virus spreading we should start now cutting back on the cruise ships entering the Bahamas.
I believe that by getting rid of the five million non contributing tourists on cruise ships we would increase our chances of weathering this threat. Can you imagine eight to ten cruise ships quarantined at our ports.
Just consider the pollution, it is unthinkable. By getting rid of the non performing mobs we would also have time to rebrand our product.
People might start coming here again out of choice and not simply because of our proximity to the USA which makes it cheap. This would be an opportunity to upgrade what we have to offer, and again have guests who enjoy themselves and spend money. We could also save Bahamian lives.
Of course we would lose the oh! so important bragging rights of having seven million tourists annually. My choice would be a healthy Bahamian population with a future which would have real potential

It is far more important to post tourist arrival numbers than to be concerned about the health of the Bahamian population! Where you from?
