ALBURY Higgs and Izaak Bastian had multiple wins in their latest NCAA Division I meets as programmes prepare for their respective conference championships next month.

Higgs helped her South Carolina Gamecocks to a 197-103 win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

The senior won both the 200 breaststroke in 2:16.06 seconds and the 200 IM in a time of 2:03.95.

The Gamecocks won 19 of the 32 events.

“I thought we were outstanding, the women dominated the meet top to bottom, great races all around.

“Georgia Tech has a really solid men’s and women’s team, they are always great competitors, so I was proud of what we did today,” said head coach McGee Moody.

Izaak Bastian also had a pair of wins for the No.14 ranked Florida State Seminoles in their road win over LSU.

Bastian won the 100 breast in 55.36. He also won the 200 breast by one-tenth of a second (2:00.56).

The Seminoles won 153-145. “This was a great road win for the men against a good SEC team,” said FSU head coach Neal Studd.
