Fallout from this pandemic will test us like never before

EDITOR, The Tribune

Thank you Dr. Minnis, Dr. Sands and the medical team for leading the charge in the war against COVID-19.

What we are seeing is a proactive “war time” prime minister and cabinet, aided by a great team of Bahamian doctors, acting firmly and decisively, making the tough decisions necessary to deal with this massive economic and health crisis.

The fall-out from the pandemic is going to test the Bahamas like never before.

This is also a wake up call to do everything possible to protect our scarce food resources.

As an import nation that relies so heavily on food from abroad, we must recognise why it is SO important to guard our fragile reefs and marine life against unfriendly environmental practices.

Yes, job creation is crucial, but so is our primary food source and the ability to feed ourselves.

The government must continue to encourage agriculture through community and school farming programmes and the farmer’s market and so on. Many Bahamians, particularly those in Nassau, would be surprised at what can be grown in their own backyard.

that start the war in the first place. What has he done except read from an advisory
from the world health organization.

And repeat numerous Times "I am a doctor" roc wit doc is not that kind of doctor.
This is not his field. it is out of his league.

What the hell has BAMSI done? Be another PLP slush fund? Backyard faming would be the best way to go. Each household growing food in their own backyard is better than any government run corporation trying to do something, particularly BAMSI.

Tourism is Bahamas"s #1 industry. Because of the pandemic tourism is history.
The World Bank ranks Bahamas as 119 in the Ease od Doing Basiness index.
Job #1 for this government is to change this deplorable ranking NOW!
