Man in hospital after Grand Bahama shooting

A man was shot early Friday morning in Freeport and is hospitalised in serious condition, according to Grand Bahama Police.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Terecita Pinder reported that shortly after 9am police received information that a man was brought to Rand Memorial Hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.

She said investigations revealed that the victim was at Weddell Avenue where he was approached by another man who produced a handgun and shot him multiple times.

Ms Pinder said the man was taken by private vehicle to the hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.

No arrest has made, and police are seeking the public assistance. Anyone with information concerning the matter is asked to call Central Detective Unit on 350-3106, Grand Bahama Command Center at 350-3082, 350-3084, 911/919, or the nearest police station.
