Yes, Dr. Sands was guilty of an error of judgement but in the grand scheme of things was it worthy of his resignation? I don't think so. I think the PM is trying to protect himself politically in accepting the resignation. Dr. Sands has behaved in an honorable way. Compare this to the actions of the PLP government in previous administrations where many were guilty of much more serious "crimes" yet were supported by Perry Christie and the Party regardless.

I don't want his resignation but if blind justice is operating he, Minnis, DAguilar, Johnson all must resign.

I am really wondering now. This plane was to fly in 2 weeks ago and there was a delay. When did Sidney Collie start talking about bringing Bahamians home? 2 weeks ago. After the plane landed they introduced a caveat, Bahamians needed to have a test to travel. Then the story broke and their explanations unravelled.

Added to that people are saying other flights were allowed in. If Dr Sands had to resign for allowing these people in, who has to resign for the other flights?

His resignation does not prevent him from serving as a cabinet minister in the future.I know he will serve as cabinet minister again in the future.

There is precedent in this.Sir Winston Churchill resigned as a cabinet minister being held as a scapegoat.He came back as a minister in several ministries,ultimately becoming party leader of the Conservatives and serving as prime minister.
