BIMINI Police have arrested a man for breach of curfew and possession of dangerous drugs on that island, which is currently under a two-week mandated COVID-19 lockdown.

Superintendent of Police Terecita Pinder reported that officers were on mobile patrol shortly after 9am on Thursday in the area of Kings Highway when they saw a man walking in the streets.

The man ran into nearby bushes on seeing officers. He was pursued and caught a short time later.

While searching the man, officers discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana in his possession. The man is expected to be charged in the court.

Possession of dangerous drugs? Do we really wonder why our youth has such a problem taking us seriously? Justice delayed, is justice denied. For God's sake, can we not move swiftly on things that matter? Is it all just a show of power and money, ego and greed?

I want know who making sure the people in lyford cay and albany are abiding by these stay at home and social distancing measures. I wonder if their beaches are closed? When was the last time you heard.....lyford cay resident was arrested for a small amount of marajuana? A bunch of laws meant to oppress and punish Bahamian citizens and label them as criminals. I guess when your black and poor you get no breaks.

I have been around a lot of Lyford Cay and Old Fort residents, and I must say that I find Bahamians far more racist, downright arrogant, and more blatantly entitled than those residents are. And yesssss.......I am a black Bahamian
