‘Encourage workers to be vaccinated’

PRIME Minister Dr Hubert Minnis is advising the business sector to encourage their workers to be vaccinated so as not to “jeopardise the economic progress” of respective businesses.

Taking the COVID-19 vaccine, he explained will help in reopening the economy.

“I want to send a message to the business sector to kindly encourage all our employees to become vaccinated. If your employees are vaccinated and one individual enters your premises who has evidence of COVID, you need not close your premises.

“If one of your employees is not vaccinated and has COVID and the remainder of your employees are vaccinated, you need not close your premises. However, if the employees are not vaccinated and an individual enters your premises who has evidence of COVID, then your business is subsequently closed down temporarily for cleaning, plus jeopardising your economic progress.

“So, I want to again encourage you to advise all your employees to become vaccinated, and to those who are not I encourage you to have them take a COVID PCR test weekly so as not to jeopardy the remainder of your employees.”

Vaccination centres are opened throughout the country. The country continues to record new COVID-19 cases, with New Providence leading in the number of new infections.

The Bahamas is administering the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine.

World Health Organisation experts have given an assurance that the vaccine is safe and are still recommending the use of the jabs.

So, Astra Zeneca, Phizer, Moderna, J&J etc have ben exempted from Liability, Governments have declared it for emergency use and are pushing its use, exempting themselves also from liability, but here is the Prime Minister telling business owners to expose themselves to liability should a staff member suffer injury from the vaccine.
Not too smart are they. So is the Government gonna pay for this weekly testing of un vaccinated staff? What employee or business can afford that?
His second paragraph above is pure BS as the vaccine does not prevent infection or passing it on, it only reduces the symptoms. Sorry, I don't follow confused people.

You seem confused. The vaccine does prevent infection to oneself (in 95% of cases). As to whether it prevents you from passing on the virus to unvaccinated people - well that's still being researched so we don't know whether it does or doesn't.

He's right and you're wrong, but worse still is that you know full well you're wrong. There are already variants of the original Wuhan virus for which the efficacy rate of these vaccines in terms of infection rates is unknown.

Minnis keeps changing his dancing shoes!! Amazing that the so-called modern world is in such a tizzy over this virus. Between various international governments, so-called health organizations, the media, all of whom are in someone's pocket, and Big Pharma, it is hard for the plebeians to keep up. Tell ya one thing, this PM is diabolical.

Appreciate the thought DDK, but I don't think this "thing" is about pharma companies making money. A higher objective (in their mind).

While he is coercing The People to take an unproven emergency vaccine, he has his Goon Squad fining The People left, right and centre for not wearing masks or having government issued id's on their person. He definitelly has the interest of The People in his stone heart. Did someone say he was a medical doctor in a previous life?

ok, let me understand:

If a patron has covid and the staff is unvaccinated, the business closes for deep cleaning.

If a parliamentary staffer has covid, nothing is done.

Can only find consistency in pudding these days.

If a patron has covid and comes into a restaurant with all the staff vaccinated, the the virus particles he leaves all around the place will not affect patrons who come in tomorrow.
If a patron has covid and comes into a restaurant with one staff unvaccinated, then the virus particles he leaves all around the place will effect every customer that comes in tomorrow.
This is probably the smartest viruses that has every been on this planet. It behaves in such a way as to encourage people to crave the vaccine and ignore any other potential assistance they might receive in any other way.
It might not be the most honorable, but it is definitely the most smartable virus ever to be - yessie King Salacie reigns supreme boi.

The vaccine does not prevent catching the virus bobsyeruncle, and Minnis has said as much in one of his press meetings, as have all the so called authorities on this fiasco .It only lessens the symptoms if covid is caught after. Of course the vaccine introduces its own symptoms but why let a little detail like that interrupt the program introduced by such altruistic and noble leadership.
Of course, he has contradicted himself so often it is hard to keep up.
To the unvaccinated staff and customers, not sure how one would keep track of that on a minute by minute/day by day basis. Maybe a vaccination number tattooed to the same forearm they temperature scan?
Wait, that harkens to history and Prophesy.
Has he required the public sector to get the Jab?

We might be talking semantics here. Yes, you can still "carry" the COVID virus after you've been fully vaccinated, but you won't be exhibiting symptoms (in 95% cases) as the virus will be "inactive". The other 5% could exhibit symptoms, but they will be at a much reduced level.

FYI, Even if you've had chicken pox (or the chicken pox vaccine), then you can still carry the chicken pox virus (Varicella Zoster), for the rest of your life, but it remains dormant (inactive). As you get older your immune system naturally weakens, and the virus can re-activate and cause Shingles (same virus). For that very reason, it is now recommended that people over 50/60 get the Shingles vaccine even if they have previously had Chicken Pox.

tribanon says...

There's a mighty big difference between someone carrying a dormant virus like chicken pox or shingles that isn't transmissible and someone carrying the original Wuhan virus or one of its variants where possibly the original virus was engineered through gain-of-function processes to make it remain in a transmissible state. Many fear that this is the principal reason why health authorities around the world have been so reluctant to do away with the mask and social distancing requirements for those who have been vaccinated.

Which frickin' planet have you been living on all your life? Chicken Pox, or more accurately Varicella Zoster, is highly contagious. Pathetic !
I guess you got someone else to do your 'A' Level Bio for you, even though I don't remember covering immunology or Virology in 'A' Level Bio

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.” ― C. *Repost from earlier this afternoon:*

This is nothing but a hideous and coercive effort by Minnis to defeat the free-will of those of us who are naturally fearful of getting jabbed for one legitimate reason or another. And Minnis is outrightly condoning the illegal conduct of those employers who are ***literally forcing their employees to get jabbed*** notwithstanding their very genuine personal health concerns about the unidentified potential long term harmful side-effects of these new mRNA vaccines; experimental vaccines that were developed at warp speed for emergency use only by those who, of their own free-will, choose get jabbed with them.

Power-juiced Minnis is despicably ***behaving as if he thinks his very own personal medical edict*** as a doctor somehow ***trumps not only our own right and free-will to decide what experimental medications we may choose to take, but also the medical views of every other physician on the planet, including possibly your own personal medical doctor.***

Minnis knows full well that no right minded and sensible medical doctor would be willing to assume the obvious legal risks associated with the forced jabbing of a patient of theirs with one of these mRNA vaccines; vaccines that were developed at warp speed for emergency (experimental) use only.

Before jabbing or recommending that a patient of theirs be jabbed, every righted minded and sensible medical doctor would ***insist*** on having his or her patient evidence their willingness and consent, ***of their own free-will***, to being exposed to the unidentified potential long term harmful side-effects that may not be known for years to come.

Here we see yet another most glaring and frightening example of Minnis's arrogance, nastiness and bullying behaviour towards the people. He has now lost complete control of himself and no longer even attempts to hide his innate dictatorial desires.

Tribanon it seems like science and biology wasn't your favorite subject in high school or university. In case you didn't know the vaccine lowers your chance of contracting the a d slows the risk of you getting the severe symptoms of COVID-19. By the way I don't know what's wrong with you and other bahamians who are spreading conspiracy theories and lies about the emergency orders and the vaccine.
