Bahamas Golf Federation team hopes to bring home Hank James trophy

THE Bahamas Golf Federation will send its junior national team to the Dominican Republic from Thursday, July 29th through August 4th to compete in the Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships with hopes of bringing home the overall Hank James trophy.

They will compete against other member countries of the Caribbean Golf Association, including Barbados, the Cayman Islands, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Martinique, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, the Turks and Caicos Islands and the US Virgin Islands.

There are three boys age divisions and three girls age divisions for this championship. The format and divisions are below:

Format (three days of competition: August 1st-3rd:

  • Boys 18U consists of three players. The best two of three scores daily count towards the team total scores and points. Team Bahamas has three players and one alternate for this division.

  • Boys 15U consists of three players. The best two of three scores daily count towards the team total scores and points. Team Bahamas has three players for this division.

  • Boys 11-13 consists of two players. The best two of three scores daily count towards the team total scores and points. Team Bahamas has two players for this division.

  • Girls 18U consists of two players. The best score daily counts towards the team total score and points. Team Bahamas has two players for this division.

  • Girl 15U consists of two players. The best score daily counts towards the team total score and points. Team Bahamas has one player for this division.

  • Girl 11-13 consists of two players. The best score daily counts towards the team total score and points. Team Bahamas has one player for this division.
