EDITOR, The Tribune.
The Tribune’s front page photo – June 7 – entitled “Sport or Slaughter” has sickened me.
In this day and age where our oceans and continents are under the siege of pollution and visible climate change, why do we allow the slaughter of a fish such as the 508 lb Blue Marlin pictured .
This is not a case of people needing food and fishing for their supper, but rather people out for a day of pleasure and leaving our seas with one less beautiful creature in its habitat.
I agree with Sam Duncombe in her call for ending these “bloody tournaments”.
Let’s grow up.

Good point.
Also, don't forget that if climate change is an issue worth worrying about, why are people cruising around in sport fishing boats burning 40 gallons of fuel per hour ; as you say in the pursuit of sport fishing, not even food.
Lol it's all such a joke, or it would be if it weren't so sad

... or John Kerry and Al Gore jetting around preaching the gospel of climate change while investing in oil and other such commodities. People are so gullible!
