Network upgrade hits REV customers

LOCAL cable and internet provider REV said “unforeseen complications” during a scheduled network upgrade left nearly a quarter of residential customers in New Providence without service for a period yesterday.

The company apologised for the interruption.

Chief technology officer, Stephen Curran said in a press release: “We experienced difficulties with underground cabling and when combined with the inclement weather resulted in the extended delays. Our team of engineers worked through the night to restore services as quickly as possible.”

The company said approximately 25 percent of residential customers were affected for an extended period of time.

Please stop upgrading ancient transmission lines that truly can't handle more speed.

Just put in fiber optic already - start with SandyPort please. ; )
