FREEPORT - A man was arrested at the Grand Bahama International Airport with nearly $90,000 in US currency on Thursday.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Stephen Rolle said officers of Drug Enforcement Unit made the arrest after searching the suspect onboard a private aircraft that had arrived from Bimini.
The male was discovered with $87,853 in his possession and could not give a satisfactory reason for having such a large sum of money.
ASP Rolle said the male was arrested for possession of suspected proceeds of crime. He is assisting police with their investigation.
