Police have confirmed the identity of the child who is believed to have drowned in the Sea Breeze Canal as 13-year-old Kennesly Samuel Elias of Nassau Village.

Preliminary reports indicate that shortly after 3pm on Tuesday, a group of children were swimming in the canal when the incident occurred.

Police investigations are continuing in this matter.
