EDITOR, The Tribune.
GOVERNMENT talks but they don’t practice what they preach – frugality!
Didn’t the Minister of Finance ask us to be frugal?
Is spending $31 plus million on completing an already very much over budgeted Baseball Stadium far from being frugal?
Look at the Beach Soccer Stadium. Over the past five-six years, how often has that been used? Honestly very, very few times and all that talk – multi-purpose use.
Honestly, the Tommy Robinson stadium has never been filled to capacity since it was opened – it needs millions to upgrade, yes, promise from Chinese hoping as that is a further $15 plus million.
Frugal is precisely the sole and only meaning the dictionary tells us.
Hoping, but not holding breathe.

Well, I certainly see the perspective of the commenter but I'm not sure that using only this countries sports venues as examples of a lack of frugality is necessarily the solution. We need it in all sectors. Sports has often been avenue for our people to uplift themselves so that's why I become wary of ripping away funding.
Regarding the claim of the attendance of venues during events, I'm pretty sure both The Beach Soccer Arena, and The T.A Robinson Stadium have been filled to capacity before.
During the Beach soccer world Cup in 2017, and Carifta / The world relays.
Other than, that I think this post is very merited
