A 28-YEAR-OLD Abaco man was convicted of rape and other serious offences yesterday at the Grand Bahama Supreme Court.
Cameron Roberts, of Sandy Point, appeared before Justice Andrew Forbes. He pleaded guilty to rape and to other charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and causing harm.
The matters occurred on November 2, 2018.
Roberts was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until March 29 for sentencing. The court has requested probation and psychological reports before imposing a sentence.
In other court matters from Grand Bahama, two people were charged in the Freeport Magistrate’s Court yesterday with possession of drugs with intent to supply.
Tammyann Butler, 37, and Darren Butler, 21, both of Terry Town Drive, appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Debbye Ferguson.
They pleaded not guilty to possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply, and were granted $500 cash bail. The matter was adjourned to June 28.
