A MAN who previously pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply officially changed his plea in the Magistrate’s Court.
David Adderley, 37, appeared before Senior Magistrate Samuel McKinney yesterday where he changed his plea to guilty.
This comes as his trial continued in connection with his arrest on July 16, 2021 for being found in possession of one pound and 5/8 of an ounce of Indian hemp.
The accused previously served a two-year sentence in prison for possession of drugs with intent to supply from 2017.
Yesterday Adderley begged for leniency in court to spare his family.
He changed his plea in court to expedite his return to his family, specifically his two young daughters.
The magistrate sentenced Adderley to a fine of $800 or four months in prison with the condition that he commits no further offences.
Adderley is expected to return to court on Monday to pay $400 on his fine, where he will then be advised on how to make further payments on the remaining balance.
