What are the rules on masks?

EDITOR, The Tribune.

Clarification, has the Ministry of Health and Wellness cancelled the wear mask mandate?

Seems so if you watch the goings-on at Baha Mar that mega Bitcoin meeting of hundreds... seating as per pre-COVID, zero spacing — not a soul wearing a mask. The previous weekend in Exuma, not a soul wearing masks.

What is the rule? Wear or not to?

Least we forget how do you or can you contract the virus of COVID? Basically inhaling the virus or touching a surface where there was a wet deposit of the virus and you touch your face. So wearing masks does what?

The newest variant is more infectious than the previous ones – fortunately if you go positive the health effects seem to be a bad flu for four-five days - very, very few hospitalization cases, but you could easily disrupt a large emloyer’s operations, like a hotel, if a few of your employees were tested and found positive.

If the leadership doesn’t practice what is the Regulation then what do you expect?

Jamaica has a confirmed presence of the new virus pre-CARIFTA which challenges should our young people have been exposed? A bunch of political people flew down to Kingston...should they have exposed themselves and the risk to importing the highly infectious virus?

Pre-Exuma the Ministry of Health and Wellness issued a release advising the travelling public what not to do and what is advised seems not a sole reads it or complied.

Just wondering if anyone takes heed of the Ministry of Health and the excellent leadership of Dr Michael Darville and his team, especially Dr Nelcia Forbes?
