A MAN was found guilty of fraudulently distributing Crown Land acquisition letters to two churches in 2021.

Glenroy Bain, 48, was sentenced to two years in prison.

Before Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans, he faced fraud charges, including three counts of possessing false documents, uttering a false document and fraud by false pretences.

Between June and July 2021, Bain was found with three fake Ministry of Finance Crown Land acquisition letters.

Two letters, dated June 14 and 22, 2021, were granted to Pastor Ellis Livingston Peet Jr of Spirit of Life Ministries and Rickeno Raymond Moncur of Word of Life Kingdom Ministries. The letters purportedly gave each church five acres of Crown Land.

The third acquisition letter granted Stephanie Jewel Allen-Rolle and Antwaun Azan Rolle land.

Bain is further said to have defrauded Stephanie Rolle of three payments of $450 from Spirit of Life Ministries in June 2021.

After reviewing the evidence from his trial, Magistrate Vogt-Evans convicted Bain of the offences. She sentenced him to two years. He is expected to financially reimburse the complainants or risk an additional six months in prison.
