One woman is dead after a boating accident close to Paradise Island this morning.
According to police, at around 9.30am, a double decker pleasure craft left from the ferry dock on Bay Street with over 100 passengers on board heading to Blue Lagoon island. It was reported that half an hour into the trip, the vessel experienced rough seas, resulting in it taking on water and becoming submerged in waters just outside Blue Lagoon island.
Police, Defence Force and local marinas assisted in rescuing passengers – who were then taken to Blue Lagoon island.
A 75-year-old American woman from Colorado died in the incident.

Sure, but safe and alive. At this point another tourism minister will just stand up and eloquently tell us about all the safety protocols theyll put in place.... for tomorrow.
Least we forget the widely circulated video of the **cruise** ship that was battered by towering waves, was that ladt year or year before... This type of weather comes every year.
This reminds me of a business that grows too fast, hails the increase, but has no plans to handle or control the increase in business. Dont forget the Director General's salient comment on lessons learned about necessary preparation for reopening after months of COVID restrictions, .... "*we have to clean up the garbage*"
