10.20am UPDATE: The Parliamentary Registration Department said the voting process in today’s by-election is proceeding satisfactorily and that all laws are being followed.
This comes after Coalition of Independents leader Lincoln Bain, who is also a candidate in the race, expressed concern about the process, claiming that not enough agents have been allowed in the voting rooms.
“So far, we’ve had several issues in terms of what the law supposed to be. One of them is that you’re supposed to have three agents for each candidate in each of these polls and they were restricting persons,” Mr Bain said in an interview with Eyewitness News.
“They were allowing one agent in there - you’ve already broken the law and then they were saying only two agents will be in there for the election and so I have had to go to several polls already to let the presiding officer know that that is not the law.”
He also claimed that over 300 ballots were sent to Cat Cay “when it should only be 80.”
In a statement released this morning, the department said the voting process is proceeding satisfactorily with all relevant laws being followed.
“As always, the parliamentary registration department remains committed to its mission: to afford every eligible Bahamian the opportunity to be registered and to vote in free and fair elections, and to guarantee every eligible citizen equal rights and access to the electoral system in determining who should govern the country,” the statement added.

Comrades, truly the picture photo-op, seems to give the appearance that the more a policeman appears to be straining at lifting a Ballot drop box is when hernia can emerge --- The greater the load ---- Fuels the rectum tissue to weaken and even tear. --- Tis a 'standby' of having to wait-and-see 'till after the voters count, will a rectum's examination medical certificate be called for? --- Just can't make this up! --- Yes?

Agreed. The constituency would probably run smoother and be more attractive if there was no representation. If it wasn't for foreign ideas and investment the whole area would be a shanty town. Government just sits back and waits for foreigners to come in with an idea and then they hit the foreigners up for cash.

This Election proves that what Bahamian politicians can’t steal from Bahamian people, they are willing to buy, regardless of the price. AND WITH THE PEOPLE’S MONEY!! The PLP May count this as a win but behind the scenes many hairs have turned gray. The Top Brass of the PLP ( and also the FNM) knows a lot of work has to be done in three years before the general elections. Lincoln Bain and Ternielle Burrows showed the most consistency across the polls. Burrows being totally rejected and Lincoln Bain shows that some of the people he reached out to him supported him but he didn’t have the money in the T Shirts or the public treasury or civil servants to work with. So will West Grand Bahama see the 1/2 BILLION in promises made by the government delivered, or will residents of that constituency be standing in line, like many other Bahamians to vote them out!

Tenielle Burrows knows the reason for her outright rejection at the polls so she may as well hang up her boxing gloves. Bahamians have enough conflict and confusion to deal with and they just ain’t ready to embrace to much of the chosen alternative. Like the same sex marriage bill and the marital rape law Bahamians have demonstrated time and again, they just ain’t ready for that yet!
