THE Grand Bahama Amateur Basketball Association completed their best-of-five championship series at the St George’s Gymnasium on Saturday night.
The New Era Gym Rats won the title with a three-game sweep over the Axmore Security Fugees.In game one, the Gym Rats won 96-70 with Regis Cooper scoring 25 points. Trevor Bain had 34 in the loss. In game two, the Gym Rats won 86-77 as Cooper once again came through with 17 points. Ervin Lewis led the Fugees this time around with a game high 19 points. And in game three, the Gym Rats held off the Fugees 108-100 in overtime as Clementi Martin erupted for 28 points and Tomasio Dames chipped in with 19. Lewis scored a game high 37 and Cameron Delancy added 20 in the loss. Martin was named the series most valuable player.
