A 17-year-old was granted bail after he was accused of seriously injuring someone with a cutlass at a Rubis Service Station in New Providence earlier this month.

Senior Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr arraigned the teenage defendant, whose name is being withheld due to him being a juvenile, on grievous harm and assault with a dangerous instrument.

The defendant’s guardian was present during his arraignment.

The defendant allegedly attacked and seriously injured someone with a cutlass on the night of September 11.

The prosecution did not object to the defendant’s bail, which was set at $6,000 with one or two sureties.

The defendant was warned not to interfere with the complainant or any witnesses. He could be imprisoned if he fails to comply.

The trial in this matter begins on November 7.
