Former Prime Minister Dr Hubert Minnis said in a statement today he is consulting with constituents in Killarney and will "consider the road ahead" after being denied a nomination for the FNM in the next election.
Dr Minnis insists he is a member of the FNM but says he does not support the manner in which it was decided he would not be renominated by the party, saying it was an attempt to "forcibly end my service".
Dr Minnis said if the party leadership "cannot uphold their own party's constitution, how can they be entrusted to protect and administer the Constitution of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas?"

ONLY AFTER all is reviewed, I steadfastly believe that Dr. Minnis did his best to exit office mostly unblemished. -- His reluctance to let go is nothing new as applies to all six occupants of the office of premiership (oop). -- Yes?

Just what about “You are not wanted and respected” does this man does not understand or want to understand? It is precisely this failure to accept this fact that caused the FNM to lose the last election. He should do us a favor an quietly leave the political scene. Please. Thank you.

As I navigate yet another abominable patch of eroded Killarney roadway, roadside littered with haphazard signage, I wonder what he thinks the Killarney citizenry would vote him in for? This isn't Farm Rd or Englerston, where the run down, dilapidated environs do not dampen the zeal of the local voter to support the party their grammy told them to. Trust me, noone in Killarney on Minnis run.

... Minnis wants to be MP of Killarney so that he can fulfil his ambition of being PM again. Instead of just 'consulting' with those in Killarney, he should consider what Bahamians as a whole think of him trying to be PM again! Or he could just look at the proportion of seats the FNM currently have in the House based on what people thought of his leadership the last time!
