Aztec to fly from Florida to Exuma

Aztec Airways is to launch direct flights into Georgetown, Exuma, from Florida.

The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation (BMOTIA) said beginning in November, Aztek will have direct flights from their private terminal at Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) to Exuma International Airport (GGT).

The new flights are expected to  operate twice weekly, and the final schedule will be confirmed and released in the coming weeks.

Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper said expanding airlift into the Family Islands is central to The Bahamas’ tourism growth strategy.

He said the new Georgetown route will improve visitor access, boost year-round economic activity for residents, and open new channels for trade and investment.

“By deepening our partnerships with carriers like Aztec Airways, we are ensuring that the benefits of tourism are felt across our islands, supporting both community development and the long-term competitiveness of The Bahamas,” said Mr Cooper.

Director General of Tourism Latia Duncombe said Aztec Airways’ service will make travel to the Exumas simpler and more enjoyable.

Aztec director of operations Rick Aranha said: “Expanding our network to include Georgetown reflects our dedication to supporting local communities by improving transportation options and making travel more accessible.”

This new passenger service marks Aztec Airways’ first to Georgetown. The expansion follows the airline’s recent service additions to North Eleuthera, Governor’s Harbour, and Marsh Harbour, Abaco.
