A 48-year-old woman has died after being attacked early Saturday morning on Watlins Street, according to police.

The incident occurred shortly before 3.30am, when the woman was allegedly assaulted by a man known to her. She was transported to hospital by ambulance, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Police have arrested a 55-year-old man in connection with the murder.
