AT least three Bahamians are believed to have been killed in Haiti — including a well-known Moore’s Island man — in what appears to be a deadly drug-related incident, The Tribune has learned.
Foreign Affairs Minister Fred Mitchell confirmed his ministry had been notified of the deaths, but said officials are still awaiting details.
One of the victims is believed to be Shadrack Stuart, a Moore’s Island resident. Family members said they were shown images of his body floating in the water.
His death reportedly came after Haitian police intercepted a suspected drug vessel carrying Haitians, Bahamians, and Jamaicans. A second vessel is said to be on the run.
“Everybody is shaken up because he’s a well-known man here in Moore’s Island,” said local chief councillor Ganvia Johnson.

Grief doesnt care what the deceased love one did in life, but I ask the question, did everybody also know he was either dealing drugs or involved in human smuggling? Reminds me of the Binini boat captain who said to the Trubune that "everybody knew" about the human smuggling operations on the island, and anybody could get in if they wanted to.
**We have to stop giving respect and hero worship to people who gain uber wealth through illegal activity. This includes illegal gaming**. And MPs need to stop associating with them, using them in election campaigns to amass votes and as election financiers knowing the source of the funds. Every drug and every illegal immigrant smuggled for a dollar is another inch dug in your children and grandchildren's *too early* grave.

I find it funny to think people believe these guys were there just waving their Bahamian passports saying hey look at my passport, the law enforcement only saw criminals. They knew the risk if they didn't, they now do.
