THE Bahamas Baseball Association took its junior development programme to Long Island over the weekend with the Junior Baseball League of Nassau winning the title.
JBLN knocked off Freedom Farm 8-5 in the 10-and -under division. Long Island finished in third place.
BBA president Clarence “CJ’ McKenzie said it was good to take the tournament to Long Island and he was pleased with the support from the teams from New Providence who attended.
The tournament is one being used by the BBA to help further develop the sport, not just in New Providence but throughout the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.
The JBLN got on the board in the top of the first inning after Joshua E grounded out, and Freedom Farm committed an error, each scoring one run.
JBLN added one run in the second as Freedom Farm committed an error, making the score 3-0.
