A 21-year-old man was granted bail yesterday after being accused of molesting a 15-year-old girl last month.

D’John Kirk Bowe was arraigned before Assistant Chief Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans on a charge of unlawful sexual intercourse.

Bowe and an alleged accomplice are accused of having unlawful sexual intercourse with an underage girl on April 15 in New Providence.

He was not required to enter a plea and was informed that the matter will proceed to the Supreme Court by way of a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).

Bowe was granted $8,000 bail with one or two sureties. As part of his bail conditions, he must sign in at the Carmichael Road Police Station by 7pm on the last Sunday of each month. He will also be fitted with an electronic monitoring device.

He is expected to return to court on August 6 for possible service of the VBI.

K Melvin Munroe represented the defendant. Assistant Superintendent of Police S Coakley was the prosecutor.
