A BAHAMAS Information Services (BIS) employee allegedly choked a female co-worker during a staff party last week.

Prosecutors in the Magistrate’s Court alleged yesterday that 42-year-old Sterling Fox attacked Perrinique Bethel during a BIS event on Fifth Terrace on August 29, grabbing her by the neck and choking her in a physical altercation. Ms Bethel was reportedly left with throat injuries.

Fox was charged with causing harm when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Anishka Isaacs. He pleaded not guilty and was granted $1,000 bail with one or two sureties.

He is expected to return to court for trial on November 13.

Inspector Shadrach Coakley is prosecuting the case.
