POLICE are investigating the suspected drowning of a man in the South Beach Canal on Tuesday.
Officers said they received a call shortly before 2.30pm. The man had reportedly been swimming with friends when he encountered difficulties.
He was pulled ashore and given CPR, but was unresponsive. Emergency Medical Services later pronounced him dead. Police said an autopsy will be performed to determine his exact cause of death.
Investigations are continuing.
