THREE teenage boys were granted bail on Friday after they were accused of the gang rape of a 15-year-old girl near East West Highway earlier this month.
Prosecutors allege that Tyrese Oliver, 19, and two 16-year-old males, whose names are being withheld because they are minors, had unlawful sexual intercourse with the girl while they were attending an event around 11pm on June 21.
The suspects were reportedly known to the complainant.
After the alleged assault, the suspects were reportedly seen fleeing on foot towards Montell Heights.
The accused were not required to enter pleas to the charge of unlawful sexual intercourse before Senior Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr.
The defendants were told their matter would proceed to the Supreme Court through a voluntary bill of indictment.
The two juveniles were arraigned in the presence of their guardians.
Bail was set at $7,500 with one or two sureties each.
The defendants were not warned not to interfere with the complainant or any witnesses, or risk having their bail revoked.
The accused return for service of their VBI on October 29.
Bjorn Ferguson and Mark Penn represented the accused.
Sergeant 3004 Forbes prosecuted the case.
