AN 11-year-old boy was hospitalised after being bitten by a dog while playing at a park in Grand Bahama on Saturday evening.

Police said the attack occurred shortly before 6pm at Susan J Wallace Park, formerly Columbus Park.

Shortly before 8pm, the boy’s mother reported the incident to Central Police Station and took him to Rand Memorial Hospital for medical treatment. His condition was unknown.

Police searched the area where the attack reportedly occurred but were unable to locate the dog or anyone claiming ownership of it.

Officers from the Central Division and Canine Unit are investigating.
