FORMER pro boxing sensation Quincy “Thrill-A-Minute” Pratt said he remembers the late Neville Wisdom as the "greatest" Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, who helped him tremendously with his amateur youth programme.

Pratt, who would have three epic fights with the late Ray Minus Jr, which is listed as the "biggest" ever staged in the country, said Wisdom was certainly the "best" minister he dealt with during his time. 

"I remember when I was doing my boxing programme in the Fox Hill community out of my own pocket, I bought all of the equipment out of my one pocket because I just wanted to give back to my community," Praatt said. "I needed some help with the boxing ring and I went up to the Ministry just to make an appointment to see him. I went up to the desk and I asked for him. I told the receptionist that I wanted to see him."

After leaving the request, Pratt said he was going into the elevator when the receptionist called him and advised him that Wisdom will see him.

"That was just incredible," Pratt said. "He was just a great minister. I got my boxing programme off the ground and he was able to help me to save some of the young men out of Fox Hill and put them on the right track."

Pratt, now a taxi driver who continues to promote the sport of boxing to the many tourists he encounters on a daily basis, extended his condolences to Wisdom's family.
