A GRAND Bahama man was allegedly assaulted twice in the space of several hours by the same two men, with the second attack occurring after they allegedly broke into his apartment and demanded money.

Police have arrested a 44-year-old man in connection with the alleged burglary and assault at an apartment complex in Bahamia.

According to police, shortly before 5am on Sunday, September 20, a woman reported that two men had broken into her Pinta Avenue residence and assaulted her husband.

The victim had returned home shortly after 10pm the previous night bleeding from the head and with bruises to his face.

He reportedly told his wife he had been involved in a physical altercation at a business on Polaris Drive, Caravel Beach, with two men, including one he knew.

Police said the man initially declined police assistance and medical attention.

Several hours later, at about 2.30am, the victim reportedly heard a loud bang at the apartment’s front door and discovered that the same two men from the earlier altercation had apparently entered the residence.

He alleged that the men assaulted him with their fists and feet while demanding money they claimed he owed them.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the residence, but the victim again declined medical attention. He later requested police action.

Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department, assisted by the Mobile Division, subsequently executed a search warrant at a residence on Point Lookout Drive.

Police arrested and cautioned a 44-year-old man known to the victim in connection with the alleged burglary.
