A 19-year-old man pleaded not guilty yesterday to murdering Philip Lockhart and attempting to kill another man during a shooting at Arawak Cay last October.

Shawntone Davis entered the pleas before Justice Guillimina Archer-Minns.

Prosecutors allege Davis shot Lockhart, 25, at a bar on Arawak Cay at about 1.30am on October 26, 2025.

Lockhart later died of his injuries at Princess Margaret Hospital.

Davis is also accused of attempting to murder Errol Collie during the same incident.

Reports indicate that one of the men involved in the incident was struck with a blunt object while another suffered stab wounds.

Davis was told that his case would proceed before Justice Renae McKay. He is due to appear before her on October 8 for a trial date to be fixed.

He was returned to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until then.

Donna Major represented Davis, while Eucal Bonaby and Betty Wilson prosecuted the case.
