Planning row erupts on ‘swimming with the pigs’

Briefly
THIS week was a particularly frustrating one for me. It is a very difficult thing to watch the government of the day conduct itself in a way that brings threat to our economy and livelihood, and shame to our name throughout the world. It is even more difficult to watch far too many of us sit in fear and indifference as this goes on, too scared or disinterested to stand up for ourselves and our country.
US Senate stalls again on Bahamas ambassador
FOURTEEN of President Barack Obama’s nominations for top foreign policy posts and ambassadorships - including one to the Bahamas - were further held up on Friday when the Senate failed to vote on them before closing its business for the year.
Gibson: Agreement on several issues with TUC
LABOUR Minister Shane Gibson said yesterday that the government has come to “an agreement on several issues” with the Trade Union Congress after days of negotiations following strike action by the union. However, the minister would not say what these agreements were.
Troubles with simple language
It is amazing how difficult it is for most Bahamians to write simple grammar. I cringe when someone tells me he/she wants me to read a letter from a government ministry.

According to the online Webster’s dictionary leadership is synonymous with guidance, direction, control and management. A lack of leadership would be the opposite of the four characteristics mentioned above.
