A COMIC'S VIEW: Bathed in BPL light, Perry will be on time in 2017
Glad to know so many of you enjoyed last week’s column; in all honesty this week, like most Bahamians, I’m still fighting the Christmas hangover.

Echoes from 2002 being heard in 2012
IT IS interesting to browse through The Tribune’s “dead” files only to discover that they are not so dead after all. In the Bahamas history has a way of repeating itself at very short intervals.
Accountants see 10-15% fraud probes increase
Bahamian accountants specialising in internal theft/fraud investigations have seen a general 10-15 per cent increase in such assignments since the recession began, Tribune Business was told yesterday.
A brave new world
There has been some idle talk in recent times that there is or might be a coup being plotted against the leadership of the Hon Philip ‘Brave’ Davis MP, QC (PLP-Cat Island; Rum Cay and San Salvador) by individuals and cabals within the Progressive Liberal Party. As a life long member and supporter of this iconic political juggernaut, I wish to disabuse right thinking Bahamians of this fake observation.
Are Wilson's 'shocking revelations' a political bluff?
FRANKLYN Wilson, reputed to be a clever businessman, persists in his mission to reverse ownership roles at Bahamas Telecommunications Company. Despite an ironclad contract, signed by the previous government, with Cable and Wireless Communications as majority shareholder of BTC, Prime Minister Christie has appointed Mr Wilson to head a committee to convince CWC to reverse ownership roles with his government.
Remember - The Bahamas still belongs to Bahamians
“I WISH to be very clear, and very frank. Unless your Government delivers on the much advertised partnership between the Government and Baha Mar, I am seriously considering whether investing billions of dollars in this country is the right decision……Indeed in order to meet firm board commitments of the partners, these matters must be finalized no later than the first week of February (2006).“
Baha Mar troubles
I was pleased ex Cabinet Minister Brent Symonette at least admitted that there was enough blame around the Cable Beach site of Baha Mar to go around for both the Christie Government who initially approved the project and the Ingraham, FNM Government of which Mr Symonette was a Minister.
Where are the radars?
PRIME Minister Christie speaks with considerable emotion on climate warming and the evident dangers of that to The Bahamas. However, the two principal friends to The Bahamas, the USA and the People’s Republic of China, are two of the worst climate offenders.

Green light given to treat coral disease
AFTER more than a year, the government has given the green light for marine conservationists to treat corals infected with stony coral tissue loss disease as well as to study and better understand its spread.
POLITICOLE: When will Christie call the next general election?
He has very little in the ‘pros’ column to prop himself and his government up on.
Yesterday’s referendum became a pawn to politics
NEW YORK Times’ op-ed columnist Frank Bruni, writing an appreciation of Cassandra Butts, President Barack Obama’s appointee as US Ambassador to the Bahamas, noted that she had been waiting for more than 820 days for confirmation in her post and was still waiting when she unexpectedly died on May 25.
Caveat emptor - buyer beware!
PRIME MINISTER Christie is so focused on introducing National Health Insurance by January that he resurrected it on Friday — at a funeral of all places.
Code of ethics must be enforced
IN VIEW of the PLP's past record and the public's criticisms of its various scandals over the years, Archbishop Drexel Gomez urged the Christie administration to quickly establish a Code of Ethics to which the new governme
EDITORIAL: PM Christie: Whose side are you on - Bahamas or Beijing?
PRIME Minister Christie keeps reassuring Bahamians that he is working in their best interest to get Baha Mar completed and opened. Now is the time to prove it.
