Bahamas suffers cruise tourism spend flat-line

Total cruise passenger spending in Nassau and Freeport has flat-lined over the past three years, a newly-released industry survey revealed yesterday, even though per capita yields are up 27.8 per cent.

Things fall apart, so who will lead?

The grand coalition which brought the Progressive Liberal Party back to power is crumbling right before our very eyes due to broken promises; cronyism; mismanagement and political slackness. It is very distasteful that if one were to appear to be critical of the PLP that one is liable to be labelled an apostate, if not something stronger. I call a spade a spade and to hell with the repercussions, so long as they are legitimate.

Keeping the dream alive

The Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) is at the cross roads of history. It came to office almost three years ago on the backs of multiple political promises many which it should have known could not be fulfilled much less implemented anytime soon. Unfortunately for the party and its leadership cadre, a whole dray load of Bahamians bought into the “charter for governance” and now they are demanding delivery.
